Baby Products Litigation

Has anyone had problems with the Bumpo baby seat?

I purchased one and my 6 month old 15 lb baby tipped it over within 4 days. I used it appropriately, on the floor thank God. The company has a good deal of current litigation as several kids were seriously injured. Most were on an elevated surface but several kids were on a wooden or tile floor and suffered bruises. There are videos on youtube of babies getting out, babies that can’t even crawl. Has anyone else had trouble with this product.

I got a Bumpo for my daughter when she was around 4 months old. I’d put her in it after her tummy time and hand her a toy and clean up after breakfast. Right around 5 months she would start leaning to the side after she’d drop her toy and one day I didn’t get to her fast enough and she toppled out of it and landed on the carpet. She was fine, just startled (which is more than I can say for me!). Ever since then I haven’t used it and have cautioned other moms that older babies can easily fall out of them.
